Demi moore's Daughters "Cut all Ties" with there mother.

We thought things had steadily been getting better for Demi Moore since she left rehab earlier this year.

A report by the Mail Online has thrown doubt on that however as they claim her three daughters – Rumer, Scout and Tallulah – have turned their back on her because of her increasingly erratic behaviour. A source told them:

'Demi is very messy right now and the girls have been waiting to get out and move on and now they're being sucked back in, and they're all getting into various kinds of trouble.'

It’s thought the girls have found it difficult to adjust to life without Demi’s ex-husband Ashton who, although a lot younger than their mother, they always looked up to as a father figure. The source added:

'The girls loved him because he actually took parenting seriously even though he was younger and they miss him.'

Now having helped their mother through a tough time it seems the girls are putting a “bit of distance” between them and her, sadly, and things haven’t been helped by the fact the three of them have stayed in contact with Ashton despite their mother’s wishes. Big fat sad face

When Whitney Houston passed away, she had just finished wrapping up work on the movie ‘Sparkle’; her first movie in over 15 years. The last time last movie Houston acted in was the 1997 made-for-TV “Cinderella” in which she played a fairy godmother and her last theatrical release was ’The Preacher’s Wife’ in 1996 where she played a pastor’s wife alongside Denzel Washington.
According to movie indexing website IMDB, ‘Sparkle’ is “Set in the 1960s, three sisters form a girl group  which soon becomes a Motown sensations, but fame becomes a challenge as the close-knit family begins to fall apart.” Houston plays their mother, a singer whose career ended badly.
The movie also stars American Idol winner Jordin Sparks, Cee-Lo, Mike Epps, and Terrence Jenkins.

Family Problems Harm Young Children.

i have gained insight into why some families are unhappy — a situation apparently centered around two distinct areas of behavior.

Sadly, the patterns of unhealthy family relationships can lead to specific difficulties for children during their early school years.

“Families can be a support and resource for children as they enter school, or they can be a source of stress, distraction, and maladaptive behavior,” says Melissa Sturge-Apple, the lead researcher on the paper and an assistant professor of psychology at the University of Rochester.

“This study shows that cold and controlling family environments are linked to a growing cascade of difficulties for children in their first three years of school, from aggressive and disruptive behavior to depression and alienation,” Sturge-Apple explains.

“The study also finds that children from families marked by high levels of conflict and intrusive parenting increasingly struggle with anxietyand social withdrawal as they navigate their early school years.”

The three-year study, published in Child Development, examines relationship patterns in 234 families with 6-year-old children. The research team identified three distinct family profiles: one happy (termed cohesive), and two unhappy (termed disengaged and enmeshed).

Cohesive families are characterized by harmonious interactions, emotional warmth, and firm but flexible roles for parents and children. “Think the Cosby family,” says Sturge-Apple, offering an example from the popular TV series about the affable Huxtable family.

Enmeshed families, by contrast, may be emotionally involved and display modest amounts of warmth, but they struggle with high levels of hostility, destructive meddling, and a limited sense of the family as a team. Sturge-Apple points to the emotionally messy Barone family in the family sitcom “Everybody Loves Raymond” as a good example of an enmeshed family.

Finally, disengaged families, as the name implies, are marked by cold,controlling, and withdrawn relationships. The seemingly pleasant suburban family in the movie “Ordinary” People provides a classic illustration of a disengaged family, according to the authors.

Reacting to the death of their oldest son, the parents in the film retreat emotionally, creating a barren home environment in which feelings cannot be discussed.

Although the study demonstrates solid evidence of a family-school connection, the authors caution that dysfunctional family relationships are not responsible for all or even most behavior difficulties in school.

Other risk factors, such as high-crime neighborhoods, high-poverty schools, troubled peer circles, and genetic traits also influence whether one child develops more problems than another child, explains co-author Patrick Davies, professor of psychology at the University of Rochester.

The new study builds on the long-established family systems theory, which consistently has identified the three types of families using clinical observations.

This study, however, is the first to empirically confirm their existence across multiple relationships within the family: in the marriage, in child-parent interactions, and among all three together, says Davies.

“We were really able to look at the big picture of the family,” he adds, “and what was striking was that these family relationship patterns were not only stable across different relationships but also across time, with very few families switching patterns.”

The research found that children from disengaged homes began their education with higher levels of aggressive and disruptive behavior and more difficulty focusing on learning and cooperating with the classroom rules. These destructive behaviors grew worse as the child progressed through school.

By contrast, children from enmeshed home environments entered school with no more disciplinary problems or depression and withdrawal than their peers from cohesive families. But as children from both enmeshed and disengaged homes continued in school they began to suffer higher levels of anxiety and feelings of loneliness and alienation from peers and teachers.

The authors conclude that “children in the early school years may be especially vulnerable to the destructive relationship patterns of enmeshed families.”

Mother shot kids at very close range

i got this resent news from CNN tweets today about this woman who pulled a trigger at her kids and also killed herself . what was she really thinking, this world is turning into a horror movie.

The Florida woman who killed her four children before committing suicide last week used hollow-point bullets fired at very close range, no more than 2 feet away, according to a report from Florida Today.

The newspaper cites a report from Brevard County District Medical Examiner Sajid Qaiser on the deaths of Tonya Thomas, 33, and her children, Pebbles Johnson, 17, Jaxs Johnson, 15, Jazzlyn Johnson, 13, and Joel Johnson, 12. Attempts by CNN to gain access to the report have not been successful.
According to the Florida Today story, there were 19 gunshot wounds to Tonya Thomas and her children. All the shots came from a Taurus .38-caliber revolver, the paper reported.
Jazzlyn was shot the most, seven times, according to the report, with two of those shots coming when the gun was touching her chest.
Joel was shot five times, the paper reported.
Jaxs took three bullets in his chest, the report said.
“The shots were taken at contact range, where the muzzle of the gun was touching the body surface,” Florida Today quotes Qaiser as saying.
Pebbles was also shot three times, according to the report.
Gun store owner Herb Stratton told Florida Today the Taurus .38-caliber can hold six shots, meaning Thomas would have reloaded three times during the shootings.
Police said last week that three of the children had gone to a neighbor's house in Port St. John to say their mother had shot them. Tonya Thomas then called them back home before killing them.
Police said last week they didn't know of a motive in the shooting. Friends and court documents, however, revealed that Jaxs and his mother were having difficulties.
James Alan Fox, a criminologist at Northeastern University, told CNN last week the circumstances appear to be a case of "suicide by proxy," in which a family member takes the lives of her loved ones "out of a warped sense of love" before killing herself.
"Typically, the perpetrator is suicidal, feels life is miserable and doesn't want to go on," Fox said. "But why does she take her children? Because she wished to be reunited with them in the afterlife or wants to spare them the misery of this life."

21-year-old-man-arrested-in-case-missing-california-teen

A 21-year-old man has been arrested and booked on suspicion of murder and kidnapping in the case of a missing California teen, Fox affiliate KTVU reports.  

21-year-old Antolin Garcia-Torres was arrested late Monday in the case of 15-year-old Sierra LaMar, who vanished March 16 from Morgan Hill. KTVU reports Garcia-Torres was arrested at the Safeway store in Morgan Hill where he is an employee. 

Garcia-Torres, a resident of nearby San Martin, is the owner of the red Jetta that authorities seized on May 8th in connection with the case. A source tells KTVU authorities found DNA evidence that links Garcia-Torres to clothing found in the missing girl's backpack, which was recovered after she vanished. 

Authorities told KTVU Garcia-Torres had been under 24-hour surveillance since he was identified as a possible suspect at both his home and at the Safeway store. A source tells the station Garcia-Torres was questioned for over two hours Monday. 

Authorities say they will release more details at a press conference Tuesday. 

Sierra hasn't been seen or heard from since she left her home to go to school on the morning of March 16. Authorities believe she was kidnapped while walking to a school bus stop.

Volunteers and sheriff's officials have continued searches of the fields and open spaces near and around Morgan Hill, as well as reservoirs in the area.

Achebe’s Things Fall Apart Named One Of 50 Most Influential Books Of Last 50 Years

Things Fall Apart, the classic novel by Africa’s foremost novelist Chinua Achebe, has been named one of the “fifty most influential books of the last 50 years.” 

The selection was made by a group called “SuperScholar.” Achebe’s first novel, published in 1958 and translated into more than sixty languages, is one of several novels by other world acclaimed writers. Other novels on the list include Toni Morrison’s Beloved, Salman Rushdie’s Satanic Verses, Joseph Heller’s Catch-22, and Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s One Hundred Years of Solitude.

Achebe, who is the David and Marianna Fisher University Professor of Africana Studies at Brown University in Providence, RI, is the author of five novels, several volumes of poetry as well as essay collections. His latest book, There Was A Country: A Personal History of Biafra, will be published in September, 2012.

Robin Gibb, member of the Bee Gees, dies after battle with cancer

 Robin Gibb, one of three brothers who made up the disco group The Bee Gees, died Sunday, May 20. He was 62.

 Robin Gibb, one of three brothers who made up the disco group the Bee Gees behind "Saturday Night Fever" and other now-iconic sounds from the 1970s, died on Sunday, according to a statement on his website.

He was 62.

Gibb "passed away today following his long battle with cancer and intestinal surgery," said the statement, which was attributed to his family. He died in England at 10:47 a.m. (5:47 a.m. ET), according to a post on his official Twitter feed.

Gibb is survived by his wife, Dwina; his daughter, Melissa, and sons Spencer and Robin-John.

PALO ALTO, Calif. — Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg updated his status to “married” on Saturday.

Zuckerberg and 27-year-old Priscilla Chan tied the knot at a small ceremony at his Palo Alto, Calif., home, capping a busy week for the couple, according to a guest authorized to speak for the couple. The person spoke only on the condition of anonymity.

Zuckerberg took his company public in one of the most anticipated stock offerings in Wall Street history Friday. And Chan graduated from medical school at the University of California, San Francisco, on Monday, the same day Zuckerberg turned 28, the person said.

The couple met at Harvard and have been together for more than nine years, the person said.

Zuckerberg designed the ring featuring “a very simple ruby,” according to the person who gave the following characterization of the wedding.

The ceremony took place in Zuckerberg’s backyard before fewer than 100 guests, who all thought they were there to celebrate Chan’s graduation.

Even after the IPO, Zuckerberg remains Facebook’s single largest shareholder, with 503.6 million shares. And he controls the company with 56 per cent of its voting stock.

The site, which was born in a dorm room eight years ago, has grown into a worldwide network of almost a billion people.

Zuckerberg founded Facebook at Harvard in 2004.

He was named as Time’s Person of the Year in 2010, at age 26.

Zuckerberg grew up in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.
